I’m reflecting on #NoHijabDay and the history of veiling that has scarred EVERY woman and girls’ life, whether she remembers it or not. Veiling has always been a tool of all forms of Male Parasitism. One that is meant to both denigrate and sexualize women and girls. Our embodiment is disembodied by males. Our embodiment is sexualized by males. Our embodiment is co-opted by males. #YesAllMenAndBoys

But a woman can’t stop at the veil, she has to look at how covering and uncovering our femaleness is a trap that men set. There is no freedom in taking off all our clothes or wrapping ourselves in clothes to fully conceal ourselves. These two extremes are simply different sides of the same male-logic coin. In all cases, the man simply wants to dictate your level of undress at any given moment. You’re damned if you do, and damned if you don’t. Pun intended. Men want women fighting over religions and veils, instead of looking at how ALL MEN AND BOYS FETISHIZE WOMEN AND GIRLS’ EMBODIMENT. Women and girls are taught from day one that our embodiment is something subhuman and to be feared. So we challenge Male Parasitism through his male-created coverings. We wear the veil, we burn the veil, we dissect the veil’s meaning. But where is it, that we women end up? Always fighting against individualism, not the collective of Male Parasitism. Not the collective of the male sex-class. Not the collective of males’ violence against us. The Christian and Muslim men have been warring against each other for centuries. They are the two most powerful world religions, and both use their weapon called spirituality to separate women. Much like the trafficker, the pimp, the male-created version of “family”, separates women. These are powerful distractions, meant to trap us further in male culture thinking. Each time we argue over male-created problems, we are spending less time finding solutions for our female-only needs. Never forget that ALL religions have used the veil in the ways that best suit their male-created systems of anti-female violence. If you find yourself putting religions on a value-based hierarchy, then you’ve already been co-opted by #MaleRot and your problems are much deeper than any head covering.

How has covering and uncovering women and girls been used within the male religion that “your people” practice(d)? Do you know the veil’s history? Do you know the rotten roots of all male-created religions and spirituality? Do you try to compartmentalize certain aspects, because you fear losing your belief system? Do you fear starting over again, and having to create your own female-culture ethics?

Men manufactured an individualistic, competitive world based on Males’ Violence Against Women and Girls. Men create metaphorical veils over the truth of his depravity. Do you see how “cozy” is his lie? He wants us to be comfortable being uncomfortable. He trains us from birth on how to do this. By the time you’re a woman, you don’t even remember what comfortable is any longer.

Whether we stand naked or in a bedsheet-sized garment, we are still being sexualized by men simply because we’re female. And through that sexualization we’re told we are no longer human. We are an object for males to denigrate.

It’s time to burn everything down from the burka to the bikini, and start imagining a world that isn’t veiled by male culture thinking.

When I gave up “my people’s” religion, Hinduism, I gave up so much that I believed was a part of me, my culture, my history. It wasn’t until I fully cleansed myself of religious and spiritual #MaleRot that I finally saw that my female culture has nothing to do with him. I have made a promise to all my female ancestors that I will burn every dupatta and bikini, and I will never cover or uncover myself because a man dictates it. I will hold my head up high, in all my femaleness, and I will laugh in the face of male foolishness.
