Myths of Male Supremacy: Gun Violence

Male supremacy tries to hide the root causes of mass shootings: boys and men.

Reports will label the murderer “mentally ill” as a way to distort reality and cover up that it is males who are committing these crimes, not because of mental illness, but because they are socialized to see violence and female subjugation as a necessary way to feel power and control.

These reports ignore the fact that mental illness is not correlated to violent behavior. They ignore that the correlation is that the majority of these males have histories of anti-female violence, which is never punished. The logical conclusion is that these men will escalate their level of violence as long as they can get away with it. Whether we’re talking about rape, femicide, mass shootings, or war it’s always the same story. Don’t fall for the lies, the data has shown these truths for decades.
